1. Talbot Hotel Clonmel
The installation of solar panels at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel in 2022 marked a significant milestone in the hotel's journey toward energy efficiency and sustainability. By harnessing solar power, the hotel has substantially decreased its reliance on traditional energy sources, thereby reducing its carbon footprint and actively combating climate change. this 130kWp system installation signifies a substantial reduction in the hotel's carbon emissions, showcasing its commitment to environmental stewardship. Being the first hotel across the Talbot Collection to adopt such a system, the Talbot Hotel Clonmel leads by example in the pursuit of a greener and more sustainable future.
2. Talbot Hotel Carlow
In the heart of Carlow, our second and largest solar endeavour has taken shape, nearly doubling our solar capacity to an impressive 250kWp. This monumental expansion follows in the footsteps of our sister property in Clonmel, embracing the power of renewable energy to drive a brighter, more sustainable future for both towns and beyond. The Talbot Carlow property now boasts 550 PV modules meticulously installed on its uniquely curved roof. Each panel is equipped with innovative Tigo optimizers, ensuring maximum efficiency even in shaded conditions. This system is projected to generate approximately 229,271 kWh of clean energy each year, offsetting an impressive 108,071 kg of CO2 emissions annually.
3. Talbot Hotel Wexford
In January 2024, we installed a 68 kW PV solar system at the Talbot Hotel Wexford to generate clean, renewable energy. 136 panels were installed over our East, South and West orientation of roofs and will generate approx. 65,550 kWh of energy and at same time helping us to avoid 30,813 kg of CO2.
4. Talbot Hotel Stillorgan
Talbot Stillorgan’s 171 kW Talbot Stillorgan PV Solar system marks the fourth solar system installed across our properties and represents our second-largest installation to date. This system is set to generate 160,250 kWh of clean, renewable energy, allowing us to avoid approximately 75,753 kg of CO2 emissions annually.
Our engineering team maximized the use of available roof space to design and install the system, ensuring we offset our grid usage as much as possible. The 340 PV modules are strategically positioned to capture sunlight from the east, south, and west orientations.
